Last Call for Windows 11 Users: After This Date…

Ana sayfa /

Microsoft has issued a critical warning for users who continue to operate older versions of the Windows 11 operating system. The company has announced that users running Windows 11 21H2 and 22H2 versions will soon face a mandatory update.

This warning primarily targets users of Windows 11 21H2’s Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise versions, as well as those using the Home and Pro editions of Windows 11 22H2. However, computers managed by IT departments (such as corporate devices) will be exempt from this forced update.

Microsoft has revealed that the final security update for these older versions will be delivered on October 8, 2024. After this date, these versions will no longer be supported, and they will stop receiving monthly security or preview updates. This means that systems running these versions will become vulnerable to new security risks.

Windows 11 patched 79 vulnerabilities with this update!

With the new update released for Microsoft Windows 11 users, a total of 79 security vulnerabilities were patched.

In a message center announcement, Microsoft stated:

“To protect you and enhance your productivity, Windows Update will automatically initiate a feature update for Windows 11 Home and Pro devices that are not managed by IT departments, as they approach the end of their service period.”

This announcement from Microsoft indicates that users who have been postponing updates can no longer delay. The company will now require users to upgrade to Windows 11 23H2.

As support for older versions of Windows 11 comes to an end, it’s also anticipated that Windows 10 users may face a similar situation next year, with some devices being unable to transition to Windows 11. This raises curiosity about Microsoft’s strategy for the coming year.
